According to my data, Bloom, I am the favorite of this writer 100% of the time. I feel so loved.

Season 5 is supposed to be airing in fall of this year, which is months from now. I’ve been meaning to make this post for a while, but it kept slipping my mind for some reason.

More character development

• Or rather, more depth into the ones who have next to none. Tecna, Flora and even some of the minor characters like Mirta. This is actually a bit of a pet peeve for me when it comes to shows like Winx Club. It makes me feel like the writers are lazy (I’m sure they’re not) and can’t be bothered. Not to mention that Tecna is my most favorite, so I’d squeal with joy at just seeing her home planet in the show.

Less cuteness, more plot

• Now, I’ll be the first to admit I’m a sucker for cuteness and that’s the first thing I loved about the pixies. But the pixies helped to move the plot along a bit and even got a great “day in the spotlight” episode. The pets of the Love&Pet shop, on the other hand, seemed to be there just to look ridiculously adorable (curse those eyes of theirs!) and felt like a replacement for the pixies. I got bored of them quickly. I’m hoping to see the pixies again and I hope they won’t be reduced to just balls of cuteness like the pets are.

No romantic drama. At least not for a subplot.

• I hated how the girls treated their boyfriends, especially the two-timing that seemed to be going on between Bloom and Andy. The jealousy subplot was my least favorite part of the season. It was tedious and, in my mind, utterly pointless. Truthfully, I’m not really someone who cares much for romantic drama in the first place, but this almost killed the season for me. I was very glad when this subplot ended.

Rainbow stops teasing us

• In my opinion, all the controversy that happened with Roxy could’ve been avoid if Rainbow had just made everything clear from the beginning. Things still aren’t clear now. I don’t like mind games and I don’t know too many people who do. Come on, Rainbow! Game over!

Only one transformation

• Sirenix is the only transformation that’s been announced so far and I hope it stays that way. I don’t feel the Winx need Sirenix plus five other “forms” like they had with Believix. It’s unnecessary, especially if they wouldn’t be used much (I believe we can all count on our hands the number of times Speedix, Zoomix and Tracix were used).

Less coddling*

• Let’s face it. The Winx were pretty much given everything they needed for their missions. Someone was always holding their hands and for Roxy, that was literal. I would like to see the Winx go back to using their resource skills. No big book explaining everything, no special items or power-ups for every little thing. Just brains.

The one thing I really would like to see…?

No more Bloom-esque stories, please

We're going to fly even higher...

Yes, the title says it all. Ali nel Cielo has officially been around for 2 years now. And for me, this year has been…weird, to say the least. But I enjoyed running this blog, despite everything that’s happened, and I’m very grateful for all of those who continued to visit, even when there wasn’t much of anything new. I’m still trying to become a better blogger/writer and the only way to do that is with practice, so I’m really looking forward to a 3rd year here. Thank you all!  - Kae Lily

I didn’t want to become a writer for Ali nel Cielo at first because…well…writing is not my best subject (seriously, I barely pass English). I thought I’d just screw it up. But I’m glad I became a writer for Ali nel Cielo and I loved meeting so many other fans and bloggers. It didn’t take long for me to feel welcome here and I’ve had fun. I’m excitedly anticipating another year with all of you and I’m going to get to try to write more posts for you guys. More than I wrote this year. With each new transformation, the Winx’s wings get bigger. In charmix, they were small and somewhat insect-like. To put it bluntly, they were cute and simple. Not much special about them. When Enchantix came, the girls were much bigger, beautiful wings, which enabled them to fly faster and withstand strong winds. No problem there. Then came Believix, where the Winx got even bigger wings with some very stylish patterns.

But how big is too big?

If you were to take off the girs’ Believix wings and stand them upright next to the girls’ feet, their wings would be almost as tall as them (except Tecna’s, if my perception is right). I don’t think I could imagine carrying something half my height on my back, let alone wings. Granted, their wings may not actually weigh any pounds, but I’d still think think that’s a bit of a burden.

Two well-known fanon trasformations for the Winx are Flyrix and Dimentix. I’m not going to lie. Both of these are very beautiful and the artists should feel proud of themselves. But just look at the girls’ wings! Their wings are actually bigger than them! Dimentix makes them nearly a foot taller, if not completely 12 inches more! The girls would have a hard time just walking through doors.

It seems like they’ve toned down the wing size for season 5, but you never know. Believix originally had small wings like charmix and look what happened. Personally, I thought the size of the Enchantix wings was good enough.

Anyway, the idea for this poll came from the latest post on Una di Noi, where the Oblivious Prattler asked us if we thought Flora’s Santa outfit and pose were too risqué. I gave my opinion in the comments, but there was something OP said in her post that made me want to make this poll.

I hear fans say all the time they wish the Winx wore more cloth, and I definitely agree.

I’ve never really minded the girls’ attire, but I do agree that their can outfits get a little risqué, especially their transformation ones. OP mentioned Sophiex was the worst offender. Can’t say I disagree, especially in regards to Flora’s, though Musa’s was alright.

So take your vote on what you think of the Winx’s outfits.

UPDATE: I could never remember if Flora’s Sophiex top had a back or not, so I went to look. Turns out it doesn’t have a back! Not even a string. I’d hate to think how much Flora would be exposed if this show were reality.

My school workload has been heavy and I’ve fallen under the weather. For the past 3 days, I have not felt well. Right now, I have a fever (100.3), but for some reason, I cannot sleep. I’ve had trouble sleeping for a few days, sometimes not falling asleep until 3 AM, even if I’m lying in bed. I also haven’t had much of an appetite. In fact, I’ve had nothing but a piece of toast since 7:00 AM (12 hours). I know it’s not a good idea to forgo eating when I’m not feeling well, but I cannot help it. I don’t want anything.

I’ve also been extremely moody for some unknown reason. I don’t know if my hormones have just gone haywire or if I am coming down with something like the flu (I am grumpy when I’m sick). I am also having some bullying problems at school, which I’m trying to get the authority involved with.

For those who remember Akira, ANC’s other writer, she also has been very busy. In fact, regarding the bullying, we are both having issues and trying to get help. Unfortunately, nothing’s getting better at the minute. Akira-chan also has a heavy workload and we cannot help each other much because our classes are different.

Hopefully, the stress will end temporarily for both of us when Christmas break comes and we can be a bit more active. After the break, however, I’m putting myself in counseling to see if that will help somewhat.

I appreciate all of you for still visiting the site and thank you for understanding what Akira-chan and I are going through at the minute. We do not like to complain, but we feel bad about not giving some kind of explanation. So thank you.
